Sathya Sai Centre UK - A national initiative, kindly enabled by the Sri Sathya Sai Charitable Trust UK:
The Sathya Sai Centre (UK) building dates from the late Victorian times and was opened in 1902. It was the former Leicester Grammar school. More recently it was used by Leicester College for educational purposes. It is constructed from solid masonry with pitched roofs generally clad in clay tiles. The accommodation is housed within four floors, namely a basement, ground floor, first floor and second floor. It is a grade II listed building and this means we cannot change the external façade of the building.
For the first time in over 40 years, the Sri Sathya Sai Service Organisation UK, along with the Sathya Sai School Leicester, has a permanent base in the warm cherished environment of this building. This headquarters will become the first of its kind in Europe, as it will permanently house the only Sathya Sai School that currently exists in Europe. It is envisaged as eventually having ‘state of the art’ facilities, which will reflect the timeless spiritual values of Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings to the world
The building is located on the main route into Leicester City Centre and has easy access by road and public transport. The spacious working area of 54,000 sq. ft. holds great potential and is currently divided into two large halls, dozens of rooms, dining and kitchen facilities, car parking space, study circle and prayer rooms, recording studios, theatre etc.
